Vol. 5. Delphic Paean by Athenaios Athenaiou
Volume 5 presents two solutions for the most substantial and complete item of ancient musical notation, inscribed in marble in 127 or 105 BCE. One solution is by Stefan Hagel, the other by Armand D’Angour. Comparing how these scholars fill in the gaps and finding out what directs their choices reveals the depths and breadths of expertise, as well as scope for creativity, that make Very Early music an exciting field.
